HOW’D THEY DO THAT?
VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS x QUINCE IMAGING
In 2022, the AVIXA content team released a new mini-series called “How’d They Do That?” that highlighted exceptional applications of audiovisual technology in different verticals. The first episode showcased the magic of projection mapping by Quince Imaging, a local experiential design company and their project in collaboration with the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights for their 2021-22 home opener verses the newly established Seattle Kraken.

HOW’D THEY DO THAT?
COTTET ÓPTICA x INSTRONIC
The second episode of AVIXA’s new mini-series called “How’d They Do That?” took us to Barcelona, Spain, and featured the unique retail experience at Cottet Óptica, an eyewear and optometry store with a long, storied history based in the Catalonian region in Spain. The store blends tradition and cutting-edge technology that attracts passerbyers with an eye-catching multi-layered display. Once inside, guests are greeted with more “eye-candy” with crafted products and technology.

AV EXPERIENCES
THE PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM
In 2018, I was tasked with capturing our time at AVIXA’s first “Experience Event” at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. I toured the facility and sat down with the tech managers to discuss the innovations that go into making the museum experience a memorable one. As a car guy, this was both a work assignment and a passion project.

THE BEYOND VISUAL SERIES
The audiovisual world is full of influential figures who helped define the present and the future of the industry. The goal of Beyond Visual is to spotlight a key contributor to the industry through their advocacy and work in diversity, equity and inclusion. One of those is Christopher Hope, the founder and CEO of The Loop Lab. Christopher’s mission is an important one that paves the way for those who need it most – by providing opportunity… and hope. This is his story on how he introduces AV careers to the next generation.

THE INFOCOMM 2020 PROMO
2020 was an interesting year for live events – prior to the pivot to a virtual event, AVIXA’s InfoComm 2020 show was anticipated to be the largest pro-AV event in North America. We developed a video package of several cuts that was to be deployed with promotions for the show, utilizing footage that we captured at the 2019 event.

THE ALSD-AVIXA EVENT COVERAGE
Part of my journey with AVIXA was to meet with different people in different areas both inside and outside the audiovisual industry. Here, I had an opportunity to talk to the faces behind ALSD, the Association of Luxury Suite Directors, about AV tech in the sports world and the collaboration between AVIXA and ALSD.
