AVIXA EXPERIENCE EVENT AT
T-MOBILE ARENA, LAS VEGAS
In 2019, AVIXA hosted its second “Experience Event”, this time at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. As an NHL fan, never in my wildest dreams could I imagine working on a design project for an actual arena, but here we are. For this project, I had to adapt the AVIXA brand into animated and static pieces for the digital signage network around the arena concourses as well as the massive center-hung display, and the ribbon LED’s inside the arena itself.
This project challenged me in new ways as I adapted to designing in different formats and interesting dimensions, but it is an excellent opportunity with a very gratifying, and epic end result.
THE INFOCOMM 2020 INFLUENCER CAMPAIGN INSTAGRAM FILTER
For the InfoComm 2020 show, the Marketing team developed a promotional campaign that features notable audiovisual industry influencers. The designed pieces included testimonials from the influencers were designed with a “pop art” aesthetic that utilizes the colors of the show theme, along with the “speaker grate” texturing as a homage to the “A” in AV. While brainstorming ways to make the campaign more engaging, I proposed the idea of an interactive Instagram feature that would emulate the ad campaign and allow users to be a part of the campaign as well.
I used Spark AR and made a simple overlay with text features and voila… an IG filter was born. Unfortunately, the InfoComm Show was impacted by the effects of the pandemic and the show went virtual, which did allow us to get full utilization of the filter in the campaign.
The efforts were worthwhile, however, as it was recognized by IAEE, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events, with the filter winning the IAEE’s Art of the Show for Brand and Social Media award. The overall campaign tied the “Best in Show” award.
